We are very sad to report that at least 26 elephants have been massacred in the Dzanga Bai World Heritage Site in the Central African Republi, after 17 individuals armed with Kalashnikov rifles entered this unique elephant habitat, known lcocally as the “village of elephants”. WWF is urging the country to mobilize troops to end poaching, and calling on the international community to help restore peace in the country and preserve its unique natural heritage.
